The Room Clearing Session Planner

A room left mid-pass is worse than you found it, everything out and nothing decided, and it is the thing clients remember and the thing nobody quotes for.

What’s inside

  • One workbook, five tabs: Start Here, Your Rates, The Room, The Pass Plan, and Sessions, with the protocol in full, the legend, your license, and an honest account of what the sheet cannot know on the first tab.
  • Every editable number on one tab: your hourly rate, your session length, four pass speeds, twelve categories each carrying four figures, and eight job factors.
  • The Room, fourteen rows: where it is, what category, roughly how many items, and the sheet returns what each of the four passes costs for that row and how much of it survives pass 1, then asks the two questions that multiply the deciding: who is deciding, and what this stuff means to them.
  • The Pass Plan: the four passes costed separately, sessions and three prices, and every session end marked CLEAN or MID-PASS with the number of things left in the open, behind a guard row that refuses to let you read a broken estimate.
  • A sample job inside the file, a two-car garage after a death, costed pass by pass, and a Sessions log of planned against actual.

Who this is for

A sort is four passes, and each pass asks one question: is this obviously going, what is this, keep or go, and where does it live. Only the third one is slowed by the things that slow a job. Nothing about a grieving client makes it slower to carry out empty boxes, so a quote that spreads the whole job evenly is too expensive for the clearing and too cheap for the deciding.

The sample that ships inside the file costs a two-car garage after a death pass by pass, and pass 3 is over half the job and the only part the client has to be in the room for. Change those two answers to a pre-sorted routine clearout and the same garage takes far fewer hours.
